Cosmetic Gynecology is the branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the female genitalia. Such conditions include genital prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, vaginal dryness and painful sex. This is a new field of surgery that has emerged in response to women’s growing interest in looking as young as they feel.
General Cosmetic Gynecology trainings are held twice a year at certain times of the year and last for 3 days. The first day of the training is spent with theoretical information sharing, while the second and third days are spent with bedside practice. In this training, the quota is limited to 15 people in order for all participants to meet their expectations and have the chance to practice on the bedside.
With her own words Surgeon Esra Çabuk Cömert says:
“The list of applications that can be applied in the field of Cosmetic Gynecology goes on and on. And we graduate without being trained in these applications. After graduating from Hacettepe Faculty of Medicine, I completed my specialization at Başkent University and decided to specialize in this field after the compulsory service was over.
I first participated a course abroad and tried to understand clearly what these things are and how they are done. Unfortunately, I had one of the biggest disappointments. It is undeniable that they showed a few things, but they never showed their actual techniques clearly in these courses. As someone who has been devoted to cosmetic gynecology for 7 years, I wanted to share my experiences with you on these trainings.
My goal in these trainings is to teach these subjects, which are not included in the obstetrics and gynecology education program, by seeing them at the bedside, undergoing surgeries, and having you do one-on-one cases. I planned to bring these experiences, which I have gained over the years by making my own efforts, to you with the trainings I will give at certain times of the year.
In these trainings where the number of people will be limited, I am determined to teach what is not taught. I will explain not only the surgery but also the sociological aspect of the work. For example, do you know that a labiaplasty patient looks at the wound areas with a mirror every day after surgery? Or how to behave when you encounter a labiaplasty patient?
These trainings are for you, my dear obstetrician friends. Don’t think, “Oh my dear, I am already doing these things, what kind of subtlety can it add? Every fine work emerges after different experiences. If you look at this field like sculpting, we can enjoy being a good sculptor together.
I am waiting for the trainings with all my high energy.
Stay with love!”
